This week, we were excited to surprise Teri on shift with our Caregiver of the Month award. Teri was so pleased that she expressed her excitement with a happy dance! Peter, Teri’s current client, was very complimentary of Teri and happy to be a part of the celebration too!
Teri has worked with Hired Hands for almost two years now. She is extremely skilled in providing care, and is on our specialized Dementia and Hospice teams. Teri has worked on some of our most complex cases, and always steps into her day with a beautiful, warm smile on her face. She is providing compassionate Live-in care on a 24 hour basis. Teri is extremely caring and gentle with her clients – always willing to help!

How to Have a Safe Stroke Recovery
Surviving and going through recovery after a stroke is both an emotionally and physically challenging experience, and the only thing you wish to do is to get back to your regular life. But, given that around 2/3rds of stroke survivors usually have some type of disability, according to the National Stroke Association, in-home safety modifications may be needed to make post-stroke life easier and safer.

Today, we wanted to take a minute to shed light on an urgent matter that directly affects ALL Caregivers throughout California.
Governor Brown now has Assembly Bill 2455 on his desk, and it is not clear whether he will sign the Bill, or veto it like he has previously. If signed into law, AB 2455 would require the State to send ALL Registered CAREGIVERS’ PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION to unions. That is right, the State will distribute private information, including cel numbers, allowing unknown people to contact our Caregivers at any time. This is a huge blatant attack on privacy rights. There are no other industries that have such requirements, because it is such a huge breach in legal privacy typically given to all employees. Why Caregivers?
